Post COVID lockdown office opening

It’s October 11. The state has made it to over 70% double vaccinations and the beginning of the end of lots of restrictions for many of us.

As of today our office’s will reopen! However, we will be adhering to the government rules and requirements and clients who are visiting will need to show proof of double vaccination or have a medical exemption. It also must be noted that workers in regional NSW who have received one vaccination can also return to the office. As Deputy Premier Paul Toole said, these regional workers are permitted to return to their workplace, and will be given a grace period until November 1st to receive their second dose.

During this period until 1st December when NSW opens up to everyone our staff will continue to work both remotely and in our office’s.

If you are unsure about the NSW Government Safety Guidelines for 70% vaccination rate, please note:

  • COVID-Safe check-ins and proof of vaccination will be required for staff and customers
  • Physical distancing and density limit of 1 person per 4 square metres for indoor areas
  • Masks for staff and customers indoors
  • Ongoing safety – if you feel unwell you must stay home, get tested and isolated – even if you are vaccinated.

Penalties may apply for individuals and businesses who don’t comply.

•     Individuals: On the spot fines of $1,000 may apply for not complying, or for using fraudulent evidence of vaccination or check-in.
•     Businesses: On the spot fines of $5,000 may apply for not complying with the Public Health Order vaccination requirements

We also encourage ALL businesses to promote the surveillance testing to all their staff on a regular basis. As we begin to open up and people start to travel, it is more a matter of when a positive case may enter your business than an if.

As NSW starts to reopen, the NSW COVID-19 financial support packages have been expanded to further support businesses.

JobSaver – Payments have been extended to 30 November 2021

Payments will be tapered in line with the easing of restrictions. When NSW reaches:
•    70% double vaccination, payments will reduce from 40% of weekly payroll to 30%
•    80% double vaccination, payments will reduce from 30% of weekly payroll to 15%.

Applications close 18 October 2021 If you haven’t already applied and your business is eligible, please submit your application now.

We hope people will remember to be patient and kind at this time as we all adapt to the ‘new normal’ and find our way. We are looking forward to reconnecting in person with everyone soon, and having some activity in the office!
